About BoW
Blades of Wrath is an Alliance raiding guild located on the US-Icecrown server. Originating from the Torvonnilous server in Everquest, BoW has since established itself as the premier raiding guild on Icecrown. Our members have experienced and defeated every raid encounter since Molten Core while totaling an estimated 165,100 hours of aggregate raid experience.
BoW continues to strive for raiding excellence by dedicating extensive amounts of time and resources to defeating the most difficult encounters available. We have extremely high expectations from our members and treat raids very seriously. However, when not raiding, our guild has a very easy going atmosphere in both guild chat and Ventrilo.
Officers
If for any reason you need to speak to an officer, please contact one of the following in-game:
- Guild Leader: Goldy
- Recruitment: Kallapryy
- Officers: Erin, Antaras
Raiding
BoW believes in maintaining a relatively small roster, usually on the order of 30-35 fully-active raiders. Having such a guild allows us to reiterate less and concentrate on the intricacies of encounters, but mandates our that members maintain nearly perfect attendance. We expect our raiders to be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 6pm - 10pm server time (8pm - 12am EST). On occasion we will push for an additional half-hour.
Our progression raids are four hours of straight attempts with a 10 minute break somewhere in the middle. The guild covers the vast majority of expenses including repairs, feasts, and some other consumables, but we still expect every member to come fully prepared to raids.
We use Ventrilo for raid communications and it is a requirement of every raider to at least be able to listen.
Loot
BoW uses a loot council. Officers make loot decisions based on a number of factors including attendance, performance, and raid-benefit but there is no exact formula. It may not work for some, but it works for us.
Applying to BoW
Before applying to us, read everything above. If you are sure you would be a good fit, please file an application on our recruitment page. You are welcomed to contact guild members with any questions you may have although our recruitment needs tend to vary and officers should be asked about specific class openings.
You will be contacted within a few days about the status of your application. If you are considered for a position, you will be interviewed by one or more of our officers. We will ask you questions specific to your class and play style so be prepared. Within a day or so of your interview a final decision will be made.
The duration of a new member's trial period can greatly vary but is usually between two and six weeks. Over this period we will fully assess your capabilities and contributions to our raids.
